Deborah Wells’ practice is concentrated in the areas of employment, civil rights and governmental entity representation. She obtained her BA with majors in English and Secondary Education from the University of New Mexico and her MA in English Literature from the University of New Mexico. She received her JD from the University of New Mexico, where she served as managing editor of the New Mexico Law Review. She is Past President of the Albuquerque Bar Association and a fellow of the Center for Civic Values. She is admitted to practice before all New Mexico state courts, the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. She is a frequent lecturer on various topics in employment law, civil rights and governmental entity representation. Ms. Wells has 36 years of experience in the areas of employment, general tort liability, medical malpractice, law enforcement, corrections, civil rights and governmental entity representation. She has first-chaired 50+ trials in both federal and state court, as well as representing a variety of clients through the litigation process, including handling appeals in the New Mexico appellate courts, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
