Michael Garcia received his Juris Doctor in May 1996 (Cum Laude) from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia and his undergraduate degree from New Mexico State University in 1989 with honors. Michael Garcia is knowledgeable in government law through his experience as a Judicial Law Clerk for the New Mexico Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Albuquerque, Assistant County Attorney for Bernalillo County and attorney at NM Local Government Law, LLC. Mr. Garcia’s experience at the City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County included advising County Commissioners, Department Directors, and other Boards and Commissions of Bernalillo County in matters related to land use, planning, zoning, civil rights, employment law, labor law, election law, torts, public works issues, contracts, detention, water law, major land developments, and some franchise law. He has also represented governments in state and federal trial and appellate courts in litigation matters, related to land use, tort, labor and employment law, election law, zoning and code enforcement, and contractual matters. Mr. Garcia continues to represent local government entities through his work at NM Local Government Law, LLC. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran.
