Theresa Baca Sandoval received her Juris Doctorate in 1993 from the University of New Mexico School of Law; her undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management, and her master’s degree from the University of New Mexico School of Public Administration. Theresa Baca Sandoval has practiced government law for approximately 30 years in New Mexico. Ms. Baca Sandoval’s most recent governmental experience comes from her work at the Bernalillo County as a Deputy County Attorney and Assistant County Attorney Senior. Her experience includes providing legal services representing Bernalillo County in federal bankruptcy court, district court, metropolitan court and administrative bodies related to collective bargaining, contracts, employment, housing and bankruptcy. She also served as adviser and lead attorney for all County personnel and employment issues. Her experience also includes reviewing and drafting contracts, deeds and other legal documents; interpreting federal and state laws, regulations, ordinances, policies, and procedures; preparing legal opinions regarding the status of statutory law, common law, and administrative practices. Prior to her employment with Bernalillo County, she practiced at the State of New Mexico Human Services Department; State of New Mexico Public Defender Department; and State of New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department. Ms. Baca Sandoval joined NMLGL in January 2023.
